Independent advice on water and building services. From people who do the work, not people selling the chemicals.
We advise owners, managing agents, FM providers, contractors and design teams on water treatment, water hygiene and system health. Our advice is based on the evidence and the guidance, and on more than 20 years of seeing what works on site and what does not.
- Impartial
- Evidence based
- Design to operation
- Second opinions and disputes
Consultancy across the life of the system.
Water treatment strategy
Strategies for new and existing closed systems, matched to the materials, the plant and how the building is run.
Specification and method statement review
Specifications and method statements reviewed and corrected before work starts, when changes cost least.
Budget and tender review
Prices and scopes checked so you pay for what the system needs, and nothing it does not.
Water quality validation
Independent sampling to confirm cleaning, fill water and ongoing treatment are doing what they should.
Commissioning validation
Review and investigation of how existing heating, cooling and ventilation systems are performing against the design and the commissioning records, with the cause of any shortfall identified and the corrective actions set out.
Process witnessing
On site oversight of pre-commission and remedial cleaning carried out by others.
Failure investigation
Root cause investigation of corrosion, leaks, blockages and contamination, with the corrective actions that follow.
Water hygiene review
Legionella risk assessments, written schemes and water safety plans reviewed against ACoP L8 and HSG274.
Second opinions and disputes
An impartial view where contractors, landlords and tenants disagree about water quality or responsibility for damage.
Most useful early. Still useful when it has gone wrong.
| Stage | What we do | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Design and specification | Review the strategy, specification and method statements | A specification that can be delivered and verified |
| Tender | Review scopes and prices against the specification | Like for like bids, and a budget you can defend |
| Construction and handover | Witness cleaning and validate water quality | Evidence the work was done to the specification |
| Operation | Read results, spot trends and investigate failures | A clear diagnosis and the actions that follow |
| Dispute | Assess the evidence independently | An impartial position all parties can work from |
Advice that does not depend on what we supply.
We do not manufacture chemicals, and we are not tied to a single supplier or laboratory. When we act as your adviser, we tell you what the evidence shows and what the guidance requires, even when the answer is that nothing needs doing.
Bring us in for one question, or for the whole project.
One off review
A review of a strategy, specification, tender or set of results, with a written report.
Investigation
Site visit, sampling and analysis to find the cause of a failure, with clear recommendations.
Retained adviser
An ongoing role across a project or estate, from design through handover and into operation.
Can you advise when another contractor is doing the work?
Yes. Much of our consultancy is reviewing, witnessing and validating work carried out by others, on behalf of the client.
How is your advice impartial if you also deliver work?
Our advice is based on the evidence and the published guidance. We do not manufacture chemicals and we use several laboratories and suppliers. Where you want complete separation, we can act as adviser only on your project.
What do you need to review our results?
The laboratory reports, ideally with previous results, the system type and materials, and details of any recent works. A trend tells us far more than a single set of results.
Do you get involved in disputes?
Yes. We provide impartial assessments where contractors, landlords and tenants disagree about water quality, cleaning or responsibility for damage.
Need an independent view?
Send us the specification, the results or the problem. We will tell you what we think.
